Many liberally run states are intent on disarming the American public that they blindly kill a cash cow just for their agenda. They push bug buy-backs only to turn around and destroy every gun and weapon turned in. Why? Because they are so afraid that the guns will somehow make it back out onto the streets.

However, some states have politicians that actually have a brain and realize that many of the guns they confiscate or get turned in are valuable and can be sold to legal gun owners so they pass laws to save the guns and allow for them to be sold and the state use the money, saving taxpayers from paying more in taxes.

Utah has just joined a growing list of state with smarter leaders.

(Ammoland) – Utah has joined the growing list of states that forbid the destruction of valuable firearms. The law is as rational as can be. Why destroy valuable property when it can be sold and the proceeds used for the public good?

Why destroy perfectly legal guns so that gun manufacturers can make more profits?

If older guns are destroyed, there are plenty of new guns to meet the demand. Utah’s new law went into effect on January 1, 2017.

From stgeorgeutah.com:

Another new law says authorities can sell abandoned guns or give them to a firearms dealer for sale or to the Bureau of Forensic Services for testing…

Utah has joined a dozen other states that have enough smarts to understand that if they sell guns in good condition, it saves the states’ money two ways. One, there is the profit from the sales and two, it saves them the cost of destroying the guns.
