This week’s most pressing issue when it comes to the Second Amendment is undoubtedly the impending federal decision regarding the right of the people to distribute plans for 3D printing of handguns.

In a stunning decision just days ago, a federal judiciary has allowed for firearm printing instructions to be distributed via the internet in a decision that not only bolstered the right to bear arms in America, but also pushed the bounds of the all-important First Amendment as well.

Of course, as with all things “guns”, there was significant pushback from the liberal left, who still somehow believe that firearms by themselves compel mentally deranged young men to kill.

Several gun groups immediately reached for legal counsel in order to deter the ruling from going into effect, in a messy cluster of lawyers and nonsense.  Now, the might NRA is weighing in on the subject.

In a statement released today, the National Rifle Association made it clear what the real issue is.

“Many anti-gun politicians and members of the media have wrongly claimed that 3-D printing technology will allow for the production and widespread proliferation of undetectable plastic firearms.  Regardless of what a person may be able to publish on the Internet, undetectable plastic guns have been illegal for 30 years.  Federal law passed in 1988, crafted with the NRA’s support, makes it unlawful to manufacture, import, sell, ship, deliver, possess, transfer, or receive an undetectable firearm.”

Once again, we have a media running amok with a story that simply doesn’t have any relation to reality to scare-monger their way into the minds of the millennial generation.

The only thing that 3D printed guns will provide is a way for the Second Amendment and its glorious protections to spread, worldwide, and allow the people to be free from tyranny on a massive, global scale.  Those who oppose this societal shift are either ignorant, or possess ulterior motives for which unfettered governmental power behoove them.
