This weekend’s March For Our Lives in Washington D.C. has garnered a number of varying opinions on the subject of gun control, many of which come from highly unqualified sources.

The impetus of the march itself was last month’s rampage by mentally disturbed teen Nikolas Cruz at a Parkland, Florida high school. Warnings about Cruz, who was known to authorities as some who might just “shoot someplace up”, were wholly ignored local and federal law enforcement in the lead up to the incident.

Furthermore, the Broward County Sheriff’s Department completely botched their response to the shooting, despite the fact that internal training documents from the department demonstrate that deputies were obligated to act promptly and directly when arriving at Stoneman Douglas High School.

The poster boy for this latest movement has been David Hogg; a dubious character that internet investigators believe may have connections to the FBI himself.

Worse yet, Hogg has now admitted that he wasn’t even present at the school when the shooting occurred.

Now, one man who himself was present at a horrific terror attack involving semi-automatic weapons is weighing in on the issue, and completely decimating the March For Our Lives in the process.

Jesse Hughes, of the rock band Eagles of Death Metal, was on stage at the Bataclan theatre in Paris when terrorists attacked and he has a dim view of the current crop of anti-gun advocates.

Hughes has never been one to mince words on the subject, even after having experienced firsthand the horrors of such an instance.

“As the survivor of a mass shooting I can tell you from first-hand experience that all of you protesting and taking days off from school insult the memory of those who were killed and insult me and every other lover of liberty by your every action,” Hughes wrote on Instagram in a post he has since removed.

“The best thing to do to combat chronic abusers and disregarders of the law (like the law against Murder) is to……….pass another Law!…..Genius!…… but before we pass this law we’re going to denigrate the memory and curse ourselves by exploiting the death of 16 of our fellow students for a few Facebook likes and some media attention….and look how well civil rights abuses as it concerns firearms helped to protect me and my friends in Paris!!!!!” said Hughes.

As you can tell from the strong language, Hughes is in no way prepared to forego his own right to bear arms in the wake of any tragedy…let alone one that very well could have taken his own life.

This is the sort of level headed rhetoric that the world needs now; not some young and questionable voices who’ve grown up in the shadow of the failing and largely ineffective FBI.
