For love of all things good, why is it so hard for people to hear the word “mother” associated with a bomb? Fishermen use the word when they have an exceptional catch, referring to it as the “Mother of all fish!” It is simply a term to express something that is extraordinarily large or more interesting than normal.

Now Pope Francis is coming forth to say that he is “ashamed” that the word “mother” is tied to a U.S. military weapon. I would expect the feminazis to rant about this, but not the Pope.

According to Reuters, the Pope spoke with a group of students, telling them, “A mother gives life and this one gives death…”

The Pope continued, “We call this device a mother. What is happening?”

The device he’s referring to is the U.S. military’s Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB), also known as “the mother of all bombs.”

The Hill reports the bomb killed at least 94 ISIS fighters last month when the U.S. targeted an ISIS complex in Afghanistan.

Perhaps he is confused with the terminology and the definition of the way “mother” was used was lost in translation. We do not call it a “mother” for the sake of saying the object nurturing or motherlike. The word is used before a plural noun to give the sense of: the greatest or largest of its kind.

Despite the difference stances, Francis is still set to meet with President Donald Trump on May 24.
