Given the intense scrutiny of the Second Amendment that has become commonplace in 2018 America, the annual meeting of the National Rifle Association will have a great many casual observers this time around.

There are already a number of protests planned for the upcoming event, with the most prominent being led by actress-turned-activist Alyssa Milano.

Actress Alyssa Milano has announced a protest against the NRA and Vice President Mike Pence and has called upon activists to join her in a rally against the pro-gun organization.

On Tuesday, it was announced that the vice president would speak at the 147 annual NRA legislative action conference in Dallas, TX on May 4. But the former “Charmed” actress is demanding that Pence remove himself from the NRA’s convention program with a petition she penned on

Milano’s loud presence might not be the only thing that has gun owners and gun rights advocates irked about the annual meetings, however.  According to reports from within the organization, the arrival of VP Mike Pence will also put a damper on the event attendee’s stated purpose.

“Due to the attendance of the Vice President of the United States, the U.S. Secret Service will be responsible for event security at the NRA-ILA Leadership Forum. As a result, firearms and firearm accessories, knives, or weapons of any kind will be prohibited in the forum prior to and during his attendance.”

This has not sat well with gun owners, and has provided plenty of fodder for online activists and liberal rabble-rousers.

Of course, none of this is actually true, and just another case of “fake news” from the left.

The NRA is doing no such thing, rather, it is the Secret Service who have decided to enact a strict no firearms policy in order to keep Pence andPresident Donald Trump safe.
