A new report from the TSA shows the number of weapons confiscated at airport security nationwide increased last year.

The report shows security agents took more than 3,000 firearms from passengers trying to get on planes.

We found numbers from another TSA report from 14 cities across Montana and learned passengers could be hit with hefty fines if they’re caught carrying a fire arm through airport security.

Missoula International Airport officials saw a record-high number of more than 700,000 passengers fly in and out of the airport in 2016.

At the same time, the TSA said, on average nine loaded firearms are confiscated nationwide each day from airports.
