Republicans in the North Carolina House have introduced a bill that would eliminate the need to obtain a permit to conceal carry a weapon in the state. The bill applies to anyone 18-years-old or older, whereas existing law requires a permit for concealed carry for everyone 21-years-old and older. As soon as word of the bill’s introduction became known, anti-gun fanatics like the Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America began rallying their troops to fight the bill.

Gun-control groups are moving quickly to try to defeat a bill in the state House that would eliminate in most cases the requirement to obtain a permit to carry a concealed handgun.

The bill would also allow anyone 18 or older to carry a concealed weapon – without obtaining a concealed-carry permit – in any place where weapons can be carried openly. Current law requires permit applicants be at least 21 years old.

Backers say it is a common-sense measure that allows people to conceal their handguns in any place where they’re allowed to carry them openly.

The proposal, House Bill 746, has cleared two committees and is expected to go before the full House later this week…

Actually, the name Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America is a misnomer because virtually every statistic says that the more law-abiding citizens are armed with a gun, the lower the violence and crime rates. The more gun control there is, the higher the violence and crime rates. What needs to happen is that Congress pass a federal constitutional carry bill that would remove permits for concealed carry nationwide.
