Marvel Comics has made a fortune off of creating comic superheroes who fight violence with violence. Look at some of their current comics and the heroes they push and tell me which ones don’t have any violence? What about Guardians of the Galaxy, All-New Wolverine, Black Panther, Darth Vader, Hulk, and many others, their heroes may not incite the violence, but the nature of the comic is violent. Even Spiderman and Captain Marvel are filled with violence.

Marvel Comics is trying to venture into a new field where they allow fans to create their own comic. Their app allows for the combination of a number of characteristics, but there is a catch that is stopping some fans in their tracks. Not only does the app ban guns, but it also bans capes – yep, no caped crusaders allowed, especially if they are armed for the purpose of protecting innocent people.

(Truth About Guns) – “Marvel Create Your Own allows fans to create comics featuring the studio’s huge cast of characters, from Captain America to the Guardians of the Galaxy,” reports. “The online platform allows fans to combine various backgrounds and character images with editable speech bubbles.” No capes! Wait. Yes capes! No guns . . .

The terms and conditions of the tool also stipulate what cannot be included in the comics. Death and guns are not allowed. Swearing is also banned, as is the time-honoured comic book device of substituting symbols for swear words.

“Suggestive or revealing images,” including “bare midriffs”, are not allowed, nor are double entendres and “noises related to bodily functions”.

“Prescription drugs or over-the-counter medication, vitamins and dietary supplements” are also forbidden, as is contraception…

Why would any comic aficionado even want to create a comic with all of the many restrictions that Marvel places on their app? They are banning many of the things that they used to make their comics and heroes who they are today. It also shows just how intolerant some liberals are of others, but do not apply the same intolerance on themselves. I’m really glad I’m not a comic fan anymore
