A common ploy used by the socialist leftists in America to justify their anti-American agenda is to mis-represent something or use a more acceptable terminology for what would otherwise offend many. A good example is the use of ‘social justice’ to sell basic socialism. Most Americans would reject socialism, but hey, doesn’t social justice sound great?

They regularly do the same thing with guns. They readily label many types of firearms as assault weapons when they aren’t and now they are using another scary term to turn people against an entire class of weapons.

The Los Angeles Times is now referring to most semi-automatic weapons as ‘rapid-fire weapons’ in order to sell their anti-gun agenda.

The paper quickly re-classified “assault weapons” as “rapid-fire weapons,” warning that a conservative court could overturn bans on “rapid-fire weapons.” …

Many hunting rifles and shotguns are semi-automatics, which means that you have to pull the trigger for each individual shot. The same is true with most handguns used for concealed carry and self-defense. By mis-representing semi-automatics, leftists stand a better chance of persuading the public to support the banning of commonly used hunting and self-defense weapons.
