It’s okay to admit that we’ve all thought about what we would do in an active shooter situation.  This isn’t some morbid fantasy, rather, this is preparation and self-examination…and neither of those things can be overdone.

Would we be the type who rush into the center of the chaos to help others?  Certainly that’s what the Broward Country Sheriff’s Department oath, (and training), indicated would have have happened in February, but, instead, we are left with a Gomer Pyle-esque caricature of the bumbling cop 2 hours removed from his third donut of the day.

The only thing missing is the Benny Hill theme song.

Now, one teacher in Indiana, who was unarmed has put the entire Broward County Sheriffs Office on notice.

A witness to Friday morning’s shooting at Noblesville West Middle School says a science teacher saved an untold number of lives when he “swatted” the gun out of the attacker’s hand.

Breitbart News reported that the shooting left a 13-year-old girl and an adult in critical condition. Police took a male student into custody.

Fox59 reports that the incident occurred in a science class. A 7th grader who witnessed it said the suspected student gunman was late arriving to class, and that he opened fire on a classmate when he finally entered the room.

At that point the science teacher, Jason Seaman, “swatted” the gun away from the student suspect.

Oh, and just to put a little more perspective to the story, this was after Seaman was shot.  Three times.

This unbelievable act of courage looks to have been divinely rewarded as well, as Seaman is apparently recovering well from his injuries, according to family members.

This mental fortitude is not ordinary by any means, and there is no doubt that Seaman should be hailed as a hero for his selfless and incredible act of courage.

In fact, some of the mysterious “booms” that have been heard around the nation as of late may be attributed to the sound of Seaman’s cojones clacking together as he sauntered the halls of Noblesville West Middle School.
