When the democrats attempted to convince us that “no one is coming for your guns”, many of us just happened to know better.

Of course, this line was merely a canned response to the continued battering of Hillary Clinton over her abhorrent record on the Second Amendment – a right that our Founding Fathers felt was important enough to warrant being the #2 issue in the Bill of Rights.

Now, despite all of the empty promises and the democratic drivel, here we are, watching Florida authorities prepare for one of the largest gun-grab scenarios in modern history.

More than 450 people in Florida have been ordered to surrender their guns since March under a law passed after the Parkland school shooting, according to a local ABC affiliate.

The Risk Protection Act, a “red flag” law that Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R) signed shortly after the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School mass shooting in February, allows the state to take away guns from their owners if a judge finds they are a threat to themselves or others.

Under the law, the state can file risk-protection petitions against irresponsible gun owners in court.

Sgt. Jason Schmittendorf, who works in Pinellas County Sheriff’s office, told ABC News that area officers have “taken in about 200 firearms and around 30,000 rounds of ammunition.”

Around a quarter of the 467 risk-protection cases filed in Florida since March “involve concealed license firearm holders whose license temporarily is suspended once the order is granted,” Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri said.

Americans, by Constitutional definition, are to be armed and prepared for the calamity of tyranny.  Forceful disarmament, particularly in the case of these procedural issues or clerical errors is simply inexcusable.

What will it take for the people of this nation to wake up to the creeping lurch of the authoritarian left?  Will it take a complete removal of the right to bear arms?  Will it be when they start “red flagging” other rights?  Will it be when the government refuses to stand up for free speech against the gatekeepers of the internet?

Or will it be when President Trump finally puts his foot down and demands that we adhere to the law of the land?

In the meantime, we can add Florida to the list of places where tyranny will flourish first, right alongside New York City and San Fransisco.
