Utah legislators passed a campus carry bill that Gov. Gary Herbert signed the bill into law. The bill was intended to give Utah citizens back some of their constitutional rights and to allow college students and professors to protect themselves from assaults, rapes or other crimes. The bill was also designed to make campuses safer from deranged active shooters since they rarely target gun friendly zones, but a group of liberal anti-gun professors mounted a legal challenge to have the new law ruled unconstitutional, but that effort was shot down.

A federal judge has dismissed a longshot lawsuit filed by three University of Texas at Austin professors seeking to overturn the state’s 2015 campus carry law, which allows people to carry concealed handguns inside most public university buildings.

District Judge Lee Yeakel wrote in his decision that the professors — Jennifer Lynn Glass, Lisa Moore and Mia Carter — couldn’t present any “concrete evidence to substantiate their fears” that campus carry would have a chilling effect on free speech.

The professors claimed, among other arguments, that the law violated their First Amendment rights since the possibility of a gun being in their classrooms might make them hesitant to discuss controversial issues. In dismissing the suit, Yeakel said the professors didn’t have standing to sue…

The legal challenge mounted by the college professors is further evidence that colleges are no longer institutions of higher learning but have become brainwashing centers for the socialist and anti-American agenda of the Democratic party. A question to ask all of these professors and other Democrats is why they fight so hard to deny American citizens the right to defend themselves?
