Things are looking worse and worse for Nike by the day after promoting anthem kneeling quarterback Colin Kaepernick for the 30th anniversary of their “Just Do It” slogan.

Nike’s stock took quite the tumble to the tune of nearly $4 billion. People are literally burning their Nike’s to protest the brand for siding with Colin.

Now, a Christian College in Missouri has decided to end their affiliation with the world’s largest shoe and apparel company. In fact, they have a no-kneeling on the field for the anthem policy.

The school’s president said this decision was based on being ashamed of the brand for showing “disrespect toward America.”

The College of the Ozarks wants you to know it does not like Nike’s ad campaign with Colin Kaepernick.

The private Christian school located south of Branson, Missouri, said Wednesday that it would be dropping its affiliation with Nike over the Kaepernick “Just Do It” ad campaign. It’s not the first time the school has taken a stand with something Kaepernick-related.

The school’s president Jerry Davis said Nike’s ads were promoting disrespect towards the United States.

“In their new ad campaign, we believe Nike executives are promoting an attitude of division and disrespect toward America,” Davis said in a statement. “If Nike is ashamed of America, we are ashamed of them. We also believe that those who know what sacrifice is all about are more likely to be wearing a military uniform than an athletic uniform.”

This should tell Nike it’s time to back off the Kaepernick-train if they don’t want to keep losing money.

Marci Linson, vice president for patriotic activities and dean of admissions, said that “Nike is free to campaign as it sees fit, as the college is free, and honor-bound by its mission and goals, to ensure that it respects our country and those who truly served and sacrificed.”

Kaepernick and other prominent athletes who kneel during the anthem have repeatedly said that they do not mean any disrespect to members of the U.S. military.

Nike’s ad campaign has galvanized supporters and critics alike on social media. One such critic gained internet notoriety for cutting off the Nike swooshes on his socks.

Although Nike stock dropped billions as mentioned above, the Kaepernick ad has created over $160 million in buzz, via Bloomberg:

Nike Inc.’s market capitalization is down $3.4 billion since the company released its latest ad campaign featuring controversial quarterback-turned-activist Colin Kaepernick.

But it’s not all bad news. The latest estimates put the value of the media exposure from the campaign at more than $163 million, according to Apex Marketing Group — almost four times the $43 million tallied in the first 24 hours since the ad debuted.

This Nike/Kaepernick story isn’t likely to die down anytime soon. Stay tuned for more hot stories in the near future.
