Last week, New York State Trooper Nicholas Clark, 29, responded to a call of a suicidal man who had barricaded himself inside his home. The suicidal man was Steven Kiley, 43, a principal at a school in the Bradford Central School District.

When Trooper Clark arrived on the scene, Kiley shot and killed him with a shotgun. Kiley then turned his gun on himself and took his own life.

When police entered and searched Kiley’s home, they found 12 illegal guns (8 assault-style rifles, one other rifle and three handguns), along with silencers and high capacity magazines, proving the state’s strict gun control laws don’t keep these things out of the wrong hands.

( – Twelve illegal firearms were recovered from the home of the man state police said shot and killed a New York State trooper on Monday near Corning, state police announced Friday.

Trooper Nicholas F. Clark, 29, was fatally shot responding to a call that a suicidal man was barricaded inside his home in the town of Erwin, state police said.

The suspect, Steven M. Kiley, 43, was a pre-K to 12th grade principal in the Bradford Central School District.

During the investigation, state police recovered 12 illegal firearms owned by Kiley, …

New York has been frantically working to become the most gun control state in America. Gov. Andrew Cuomo would ban all private ownership of firearms if it was legal for him to do so, but since he can’t, he’s been pushing hard to get as many gun control laws passed that will pave the way for his firearm confiscation in the future.

What makes this so tragic is that Trooper Clark did not have to die if Kiley was going to take his own life anyway.
