It’s always interesting to see an anti-gun liberal try to tell legal firearms owners how to safely handle and store their guns. They often come across as if every gun owner is a bumbling idiot who has no idea of how to be safe with their guns. They fail to realize that most guns owners, especially those with concealed carry permits or licenses are the most law-abiding and careful demographic group of people in the nation. They tend to obey laws more, including traffic laws. They tend to take the time and effort to learn about their particular firearms so that they don’t hurt themselves or anyone else.

A columnist in Missouri wrote a column, charging gun owners to be safer.

(Kansas City Star) – Missourians enjoy the right to own and carry firearms though the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, the Missouri Constitution, and state statutes, but firearms safety should be an important part of firearms ownership for the armed citizen.

Perhaps the author should spend his time urging families to stay together so that so many kids don’t live in broken homes with no father. Statistics show that these kids are more likely to be dysfunctional and end up committing crimes, being jobless, or not able to maintain a stable relationship or job. If all of the effort spent fighting guns was directed at saving families, it would make a greater impact on our nation and millions of people.
