We are quickly approaching the mid way point in the year 2018, and there is no doubt whatsoever that this trip around the sun has been one of the most fascinating of all time…especially for American politics.

The year has been dominated by a fight over the Second Amendment.  The liberal left has been exploiting a number of horrific mental illness attacks in our nation’s school, attempting to prove that the guns involved were somehow responsible for the actions of the shooter.

On the other hand, we have conservatives, patriots, and realists who are all fairly certain than any attempt to further mitigate the right to bear arms will result in a massive activation of the sacred right.

Chicago is one of the misguided American cities whose democratic leaders have long sought to restrict the rights of its citizens, particularly when it came to the Second Amendment.  For 28 years, The Windy City enforced a stringent handgun bans that served to only galvanize the criminal elements of the city, allowing them free reign of Chiraq’s streets with their armories of illegal pistols.

Now, as the city attempts to crawl out from under their self-imposed anarchy, over 1,000 people have been shot in Chicago in 2018…and we’re just barely getting to the halfway mark of the year.

Over 1,000 people have been shot in gun-controlled Chicago year-to-date and more than 200 people have been killed.

The Chicago Tribune reports that 1,071 people had been shot as of June 4 and 202 people had been killed. Twenty-nine people were shot and wounded during the past weekend alone and three persons were killed.

Breitbart News reported that 38 were shot, eight fatally, over Memorial Day Weekend 2018. And ABC7 notedthat was on par with the number of homicides on that weekend in years gone by. There were seven murders over Memorial Day Weekend in 2017 and eight during the same weekend in 2016.

Even after Chicago finally repealed their horrific handgun ban, the city continued to work at restricting the right to bear arms.

A recently imposed “violence” tax on guns and ammunition has come with an uptick in violent crime in the years subsequent to its imposition.
