Many conservative organizations have used the auctioning off or raffling of guns as a means to raise money. Generally, most of the people who attend these types of events are conservatives and law-abiding citizens, but that doesn’t matter to some California Democrats.

They have introduced a bill that would ban the fundraising auctioning or raffling of any firearm.

Opponents of the bill say that they have the right to auction off guns to help raise money and that such events will not stop criminals from obtaining guns if they want to get them. It’s easy for them to buy guns on the black market and besides, a good way to help fight crime is to get more guns into the hands of law-abiding people.

She couldn’t believe there’s now Assembly Bill 3199 that aims to prevent guns from being auctioned as prizes by charitable organizations.

“I think somebody is just looking for something to do, anything to do, and this just might sound like a good idea,” Sheriff Mims said.

A spokesman for the author of the bill, Assemblyman Chris Holden, says he believes high powered rifles should not be prizes…

Democrats are not only against the idea of law-abiding conservatives being able to obtain a firearm via a fundraiser, but they are also against many conservative organizations being able to have ways of raising money to help their work. This is why so many Democrats have been trying to target the non-profit status churches and religious organizations.
