Great Britain has strict gun ownership laws which prevents many citizens of owning a gun, let alone greatly restricts anyone’s ability to carry a gun for self-protection. After the latest series of terrorist attacks in the country and images of unarmed citizens and police running from the attackers, a number of gun advocacy groups are calling for the right to bear arms so citizens can protect themselves. One group points out that the government officials who support gun control enjoy 24/7-armed bodyguard protection while citizens are left defenseless.

British activists are advocating for looser gun laws in response to the Saturday night ISIS terror attack that killed eight people and wounded nearly fifty others in central London.

“These tragedies may have been the eye opener to just how ineffective our laws are,” Dave Ewing, a representative from the gun ownership advocacy group, Firearms-UK, told Vocativ.

Firearms-UK, along with other advocacy groups like Arm UK Citizens, Legalise Guns in the UK, and England Wants Its Guns Back, have flocked to social media to slam the British government for maintaining harsh restrictions on gun ownership in response to the attack at London Bridge, which was the third terror attack on British soil in as many months…

As long as liberals remain in control of Parliament, British citizens will remain defenseless against future terrorist and criminal attacks. One has to ask the question if British citizens were allowed to carry concealed weapons, could someone have been able to stop the attacks earlier on and saved lives? No one can say yes, but it’s certain that no was able to try.
