Yikes. Around 4pm on Friday, a boat exploded at the Ocean Isle Fishing Center at Ocean Isle Beach, in North Carolina. This is located about 175 miles south of Raleigh.

Debbie Smith, Ocean Isle Beach Mayor, has reported that two people were on board when it exploded, and were then airlifted to hospitals. A third person was on the dock, near the exploding, and they were taken to a Myrtle Beach hospital in South Carolina.

According to Scott Garner, the Brunswick County Fire Marshal, the boat was already engulfed in flamed when the firemen arrived on scene. Even though it was already blazing, firefighters were able to get it under control and limit the spread of the leaking fuel.
