A Georgia couple were enjoying their evening meal when two 17-year-olds wearing masks broke into their home. One of the intruders was carrying a baseball bat and the other a brick, which he used to strike the homeowner. However, the homeowner managed to wrestle the baseball bat from one of the intruders. As one of the intruders fled the home and into nearby woods, a group of armed neighbors chased him and held him at gunpoint until police arrived.

A group of armed neighbors captured one of two home-invasion suspects Wednesday in Gordon County, according to the sheriff’s office.

About 8:15 p.m., deputies responded to a home-invasion report in the north-central part of the county, according to a news release from Sheriff Mitch Ralston.

Officers found Alex Alcantar injured in the house.

Imagine what would happen to the crime rates in many US locations if armed neighbors banded together to fight crime and protect each other. It would make would-be criminals think twice before trying to victimize someone. Just knowing that there would be a chance of facing an armed group of people should be a pretty good deterrent.
