Democrats the nation over are standing firm on the graves of the Parkland, Florida victims, hoping to convince the nation that the Second Amendment is over.

It is a nearly impossible point to miss.  CNN and others have spent an incredible amount of time propping up the dubious Stoneman Douglas High School survivors, such as David Hogg, who are far too rehearsed and eloquent to have just witnessed the life-changing atrocity of Valentine’s Day, leading many to believe that something sinister is afoot within this teen’s backstory.

Furthermore, the incident itself was a complete failure of law enforcement months in the making.  Dozens of warnings regarding Nikolas Cruz had been relayed to local and federal law enforcement personnel, who all did absolutely nothing in order to prevent this massacre from occurring.  One caller even told the FBI that Cruz would “explode” and likely “shoot someplace up” if he wasn’t stopped.

Still, they did nothing.

And we mustn’t forget the longstanding, backdoor deal between the Broward County Sheriff’s Department and the Parkland school district in which student crime was routinely ignored in order to falsify arrest statistics, thereby securing federal grant money for the school.

Now, in the midst of all of this evidence of wrongdoing, the left is still attempting to blame the gun involved, and not the mentally-ill Cruz who heard “demon voices” during his rampage, or the corrupt and colluding Sheriffs’ Department that did literally nothing in the face of a specific and repeated threat.

Born from this horrific misunderstanding comes a bill on Capitol Hill that more closely resembles the Nazi gun-grab of the 1930’s than anything else we’ve seen in modern history.

“It is no secret that Rep. David Cicilline (D-R.I) is no fan of guns. After the Las Vegas shooting, he introduced a bill to ban bump stocks. With another tragedy, he looks to gain political capital by proposing more overreaching gun bills that are doomed to fail in Congress. This tactic is what is known as the ‘political circus.’

“The new bill, which is co-sponsored by 150 other Democrats, would introduce what Cicilline calls ‘sensible legislation.’ He uses such buzz words as ‘weapons of war’ and ‘assault weapons.’ Looking into the bill it is anything, but ‘sensible.’

“’Assault weapons were made for one purpose,’ a statement released by Cicilline said. ‘They are designed to kill as many people as possible in a short amount of time. They do not belong in our communities.’

“The bill would ban all AR15, AKMs, and all other modern sporting rifles. The legislation mentions over 200 brands of firearms by name which would effectively put these companies out of business. I reached out to some of these companies for comment, but I have not gotten a response at the time of this writing.”

The bill is so bad, in fact, that it would ban any handgun with a magazine capacity of more than 10 rounds, and nearly all semiautomatic shotguns as well.

While these are certainly not “weapons of war” by any stretch of the imagination, the left wants them gone just the same.  (We can see here what this bill is really about).

And, as far as the designation as “weapons of war” is concerned – the Second Amendment protects our right to engage in battle against any tyrannical government that looks to take our firearms.  So, in reality, the only way that these will ever become “weapons of war” is if the government tries to come and take them.
